Subscribe to New phone service
In Korea, almost all households use KT, the country's biggest telephone and internet provider. Recently the number of internet telephone subscribers has been increasing.
Korean internet and telephone service providers are now offering a service that bundles the land line, high speed internet and cell phone all together at a lower cost. Subscribing to telephone service requires passport and alien resitration card.

Subscribe to new cell phone service
Subscribing to a cell phone service requires an alien registration card and a copy of your bank account. Each mobile phone providers has different a system of subscription fee, deposit, unit prices.

Card only
- There are three types of cards: telephone card, credit card, and IC card.
- Card telephone can be used to make a long distance call or an international call.
- Telephone cards are sold at newsstands and banks.

- You can use this phone in the same way as the phones the mentioned above.
- Credit cards can be used.
Long distance call and international calls
To make a long distance call
- Insert a coin or card.
- Press the area code + telephone number. All area codes in Korea start with the number 0.
- You can make an International call with a credit card. Credit card operated telephones are available in hotels and major buildings and provide serive in English.
- Press the area code when you make a call from a mobile phone to a landline telephone.
